Many of you are traveling fromVERY far away...

And we are so grateful that you are making the trip to Maui for our wedding celebration!

We want it to be a relaxing and memorable getaway for everyone, so we are providing some helpful tips & accommodation info here.  We are planning some fun and chill events spanning Friday 6/12 through Monday 6/15, but please feel free to come as early or stay as long as you want!

(See Events page for schedule!)

Flights..

Airport: Maui International (OGG)

We are planning some fun events spanning Friday night, 6/12 through Monday night, 6/15.  The wedding will be on either Saturday or Sunday- we are still figuring that out.  We recommend arriving on or before Friday, 6/11 and leaving on or after Tuesday, 6/16 if possible.  We hope you can be there for all the fun, but understand if your life and work dictates otherwise.

Transportation...

There will be transportation provided from your hotels to and from the wedding.  If you're staying at the Maui Coast Hotel, you will be walking distance from the "home base," where we will have the Rehash The Bash luau & a few activities.

If you want a rental car to explore the rest of the island, we have a discount CDP code for Hertz that should get you a better rate: 1916490.  We have found pretty good rates with Hertz & National at the airport.

Island Time/Jet Lag...

It will take you a couple days to get used to island time.  You will want to go to sleep at 7pm the first couple days, so we recommend arriving Thursday or Friday if you can, because there will be PLENTIFUL ENTICING reasons to stay up past 7!

Wedding Attire...

Women should wear coconut bras and men should wear grass skirts.  JUST KIDDING... Wedding attire will be dressy!  (I believe the term we'll use is "Island Chic.")  Men- suits/sport coats, tie optional.  Women- cocktail.  You will have a tan & you will want to show it off so bring your A-game, hotties!  While the location of the wedding is a secret, we will tell you it's not a beach.  The venue has cobblestone floors (so wedges may be a little more comfortable than heels, ladies, but you'll be lovely in either).  And in June, the weather could be a little hot at the beginning of the evening and grow chilly later on.  So y'know... layers.

What To Pack...

Nice cocktail attire for the wedding, nice casual summer wear for luau party (sun dresses, linen, etc.), casual summer clothes for every day, swimsuits, flip flops, sun screen, sun glasses, hat, camera, good book, light sweater or jacket (for night), tennis shoes for hiking (if desired).

You don't need to pack beach towels, as your hotels should have them.  And we will have plenty at the house.

Gifts...

We know our wedding destination is a bit of a journey.  Your gift to us is the honor of your presence on Maui for our wedding!  AND (did you think that was the end?)... we will have an open mic during the wedding reception for anyone to be able to give a toast or roast!  This is one of the most special parts of the wedding to us, so if any of you feel so inclined, we would be so honored to have you say a few words!

Children...

Of course please feel free to bring your children with you on the trip if you desire!  However, we would like to respectfully ask that our wedding is for adults only and that parents can enjoy a night off!

Weather...

June is typically sunny and warm almost everywhere on Maui, with the trade winds almost always blowing. June is the driest month of the year on Maui (which actually makes Gwen sad because she LOVES rain).  The hurricane season begins in June, but - settle down now - rarely will a tropical system come close to Maui.

Sea water temps average about 77 ° F.

Average temps in Kihei in June are 68-87 ° F.

Wooohooooo!
